All the fancy stuff needs to be done 4-5 weeks before your tournament, leaves you with the focus on rugby itself. Do not fill the heads in your team with thoughts that take them away from the goals you set for the tournament.

Also in periodizing your program, plan your rest periods before the tournament and discuss this with the team. I had an experience where one of my topplayers used the last restperiod to paint her house!

Success,
Ptua

Hi,

We are planning a rugby campaign that should take is to a big tournament later this year. We have lots of people who want to contribute, skill coaches, mental coaches and more. We can plan all kind of activities, but we have no experience with planning all these things around the tournament itself.

Please advise,

D.
