Great to see you have an interest to play rugby. I do not think your age is a problem. You say your a fit, you will only have to become match fit. Rugby is a collision sport, your body has to get used to getting tackled. The safety aspect is also important, a certain skill level will prevent injuries.

So yes, there is a bit of step-up but try to find a club with these things in mind, do not play a game in your first week of rugby but when you feel comfortable.

Hi Martin,

In your own opinion do you think that at 27 years of age that I would be too old to begin playing rugby. My level of fitness is quite good however I am concerned whether I'd be more prone to injury as I've never played before.
