Topic review - Defending the Five Man Lineout
Author Message
Post subject:  Lots of ideas on defending .....  Reply with quote
1. In the defending line-out set up: lifter - 1st jumper - lifter - 2nd jumper - lifter, it are the jumpers who call the shots by shouting "Mine".

2. Move with the lifters

3. Lift 1st jumper if not sure where the ball is going

4. do not lift at all but set up defensive drive a soon as possible in your own 22

Lots of teams have gone to a five man lineout with the jumper shifting around. Have dug around the web and have not found much on lineout defensive strategy. Just curious on any suggestions or resources you might have. Should we shadow the jumper and try to steal, jump two defensively to block.
