Hello, Blind side wing has (traditionally) an important role in taking over defensive position of the full back.
Nowadays you see more blindside wingers join the attack line earlier and the traditional role is taken up by one of the forwards. (this also tells you something about the forwards).
In defense the blind side winger always has to stay flat, but ready to run the diagonal for the cover defense on a midfield break, or again take over the midfield position in the full-back has to commit to the defensive line.
But this too has changed, nowadays everybody seems to be doing everything.
My advise would be: give your individual players a clear understanding of what their options are in these situations and how they should work together.
I do this before a training session: everybody gets changed but meets upstairs first. We have a magnetic pitch on the table with colored magnets. Take ten mins. max!
