Hi,
I am 18 years old and would like to get into rugby. However, im not very interested in playing the sport. I rather want to be a coach. I love the tactical side to anything and find this the most interesting part of rugby. How should i go about getting into coaching, considering that im struggling to find information on this area of the sport. I know that Jake White of the Springboks never played so is there much hope?

Also, I have recently become very interested in the tactics of rugby. Being an avid tactician i find this part of rugby very interesting. Im most interested in offensive and defensive systems, im struggling to find any info on this apart from an article regarding "Rush" defence and "Flat" attack from SA v. NZ. Is there anywere were i can find in depth information regarding these areas in conjunction with certain styles of play (Kicking game, runing game) and set plays from scrums and lineouts.

Hello Ivan, I do not really have a good idea how to start as a coach but I do think that not having played yourself should not be a problem. My advice would be to start with an Under 14 or Under 16 team. These boys are "coachable" and always open to new ideas.

Try to read as many books as you can about the game.

Discuss your abitions with the rugbyclub, I am sure they are more than willing to help you.
