Bob, I had the same need last year. I feel that the SAQ programmes I conduct are effective because I can see that the players are moving better. But I also would like to see this proven through some sort of test. I have found the Salom Sprint and Dribble test of good use. It is devised for hockey and soccer players because it takes dribbling with a ball into account. The test was developed by the Rijks Universiteit Groningen, they use it for their work with talented hockey players and the academies of two premier league soccer clubs in the Netherlands.
I substituted the dribbling with carrying a ball. Carrying a ball does reduce speed and agility!
