Hello Martin,

Read your pages on nutrition but I'm afraid it is too complicated for me.... Pls. advise, we are setting up a rugby training event that will take Friday evening and the whole Saturday. What would your advise on the menu be?

Hello Coach Wilson,

I do not know where you coach but apart from warm climates dehydration would always be my biggest worry. Make sure the players keep drinking or your Saturday afternoon program will collapse.... Remember that the feeling of thirst is always behind the actual hydration status.
Use these sports drinks (personally I like the blue flavoured Gatorade)

Plan a meal directly after the training session on Friday. Just like the Saturday lunch this can be full wheat bread and other foods rich of carbohydrates.

No cheese = too fat! It will take more energy to digest than it will give the players on the short term.

Thanks Martin, good to focus on drinking and some sandwiches after the Friday evening session.
