Hi

After taking my 5 year old son down to our local club it appears I might by default be handed the honour of taking the under6's

I've been a player my whole life, now retired, but have no experience of coaching myself and certainly not young kids

Any tips on how to run a session and ideas of games to play in the session would be much appreciated

Thanks in advance

I asssist in coaching under 6's.
Things we find that work are using key words. Example "Targets" when we do passing practice.
"Cones", sends the kids off about 50 mtrs aay to turn over some cones giving yu time to move seemlesly to the next practice!
Kids love to use the Tackle bag, have them shoulder barge in in a 2 team circut, Dodge poles, tackle bag, pass to next player!
Also play Bulldogs at end of session using Tags! kids look forward to it and teaches running for space.
I think the trick is keep it simple and fun,
