You have the opportunity to help to get our sport in the Olympics. The IRB has launched a campaign, I am supporting the bid of course by advising you to participate. Have a look at this page:

http://www.rugbycoach.com/olympics/rugbyolympics.htm

Of de Nederlandse versie (je bijdrage moet helaas wel nog steeds in het Engels)

http://www.rugbycoach.com/olympics/rugbyolympics_NL.htm

It will take only 15 mins of your time,

Rogge was not too keen in 2007, with Sevens and the ELV's he should be less reserved now...

For those who need a little inspiration my contributions.....

Rugby players respect each other

Win or loose, does it matter in Rugby?

Little chance, the rugby world - i.e. the IRB has to do some homework first.....

http://www.puttingrugbyfirst.com

This website focusses on missed opportunities of the IRB to make the game really global. The elitism and power of the top countries that will keep rugby out of the Olympic Games.

Interesting read

I agree with irb_critic:

As in 2007, there are four pools of five teams, with the top three positions in each pool filled by the 12 pre-qualified teams from the last World Cup.
The teams ranked one to four in the current world rankings were kept apart by the seeding system, with the next four teams - those ranked fifth to eighth - the second names into each pool.

Which other competitions does that?

I agree with the critics, but we have no choice: rugby has to become Olympic

Last hurdle 9th of October: four options:

1, both Golf and Rugby are selected
2, only Golf
3, only Rugby
4, neither

Let's wait and see, we seem to have a good lobby..................
