On rugbycoach.com and elsewhere on the web
As Head of Youth Development for the two Amsterdam based rugbyclubs I have the opportunity to practise the LPM philosophy. I understand it will be not only about educating the players, but also creating an understanding of the principles for the youth coaches. It is a good opportunity to review what I have set-up on the website sofar and what is referenced elsewhere.

So here are the blog posts on rugbycoach.com related to Pierre Villepreux and LPM (Les Plaisirs du Mouvement):
- LPM – Stage Pierre Villepreux. In this post I share my observations after my last visit to a LPM summer camp in 2024. It briefly explains the main concepts of the philosophy and during the week we got a presentation of its implementation at Stade Toulousain. Link to that blogpost.
- “How to develop Open Play?” This post gives some examples of the two important principles in running the exercises. 1. Creating the unbalance in Attack & Defense through manipulation of the starting positions and 2. By actively starting the play running with the ball and feeding it as if you are a player too.
- The decision model for moving into position with or without the ball and to anticipate on next phases of attack is explained in this post about the Family System. It describes that model and how Jean Bidal detailed it further.
- “Decision Making in Rugby” post briefly describes the general approach as an intro to the presention you can also download from my website (it is a classic!).
